Specialty 134 Aviation and Rocket and Space Technologies (Airplanes and Helicopters educational program)
Specialty 134 Aviation and Rocket and Space Technologies (Airplanes and Helicopters educational program) is aimed at training of design engineers, design technicians and mechanical technicians of the "Bachelor of Art" and "Master" qualification levels in aircraft and helicopter manufacturing.
After 4 years of study and defense of the graduation project, the bachelors are qualified as “Bachelor of Art” educational degree and “mechanic, design technician (mechanic)” professional grade as per Airplanes and Helicopters specialty.
After 1.4 years of study and defense of a graduation project that has a scientific-research nature, the graduate is qualified as Master and as Design Engineer (Mechanic) professional grade as per Airplanes and Helicopters specialty. They may be involved in working activity as engineers at the aviation industry companies and other machine-building factories. Graduates of this qualification level are mostly demanded in the aviation industry and general engineering.
After 1.9 years of study and defense of a graduation project, the graduate is qualified as a Master of Science educational degree and as engineer-researcher professional qualification as per Airplanes and Helicopters specialty. The graduates re able to occupy the research engineer position in the aircraft manufacturing industry, to work in design and scientific offices of the Ukrainian aviation industry, at universities, as well as at the variety of public and private companies.
Training process of bachelors and masters is based on up-to-date techniques of integrated design, engineering analysis, preparation of the aircraft production with wide application of computer information technologies.
Research work in the scientific and research laboratory with reference to aircraft structure lifetime and on the basis of the CAD / CAM / CAE Training and Research Center, as well as conducting the educational process at Antonov SC (Kiev), at KSAMC (Kharkiv) under the guidance of teachers and specialists of the aviation industry help to ensure high level of training of modern specialists.
Training of students is conducted in specialized laboratories, provided with the required facilities and one-to-one scale size aircraft, helicopters, their units, assembly structures, parts and systems. The classrooms of the department have Simens NX, CATIA, ANSYS, COMPASS computer-aided systems.
Work practice plays a significant role in the training of aviation specialists. Students have work practice at the companies involved in the aviation industry (Antonov State Company (Kiev), KSAMC (Kharkiv), as well as at private aviation companies.
