About us

The Department of Airplanes and Helicopters Design was founded in 1930. For the total period of its activities the department has been involved in training students specialized in Aircraft and Helicopter design and engineering. Within the total period of the activity this department was used as a base for foundation as following: aircraft strength department, aircraft structure department, students design office, scientific and research establishment with reference to the problems of simulating flight conditions, branch scientific and research laboratory of structural joints with enhanced endurance, scientific and research laboratory with reference to aircraft structure lifetime.

The department comprises: aircraft structure laboratory named after O. Antonov (General Designer); helicopter structure laboratory; aircraft maintenance laboratory; scientific and research laboratory with reference to aircraft structure lifetime; power plant laboratory; computer aided systems classroom named after P. Balabuev (General Designer); CAD / CAM / CAE educational and scientific center; training center incorporated in ANTONOV SC;  curriculum and methodological office.

Alexander G. Grebenikov, Dr. of Science, professor, honored employee in the field of Ukrainian Educational System is a Head of the Department.
